This painting is 1 part of 5 consisting of my year 12 Australian HSC, in homagea to my great-grandfather Egbert Smith, who flew in the Sunderland SQN-461 in WWII in the Atlantic. The Sunderland - (plane) has therefore always been a rather heroic and symbolistic figure in our family.
